“The transformation in students’ attitudes to learning is contributing to improving achievement and standards. The academy has worked well to raise students’ aspirations and to encourage them to aim high." Ofsted
"An incredibly impressive school" David Cameron MP, Leader of the Opposition
Walworth Academy opened in 2007. The academy serves children of all abilities and has no religious affiliations. It has 180 students in each year, in six classes, and will open a sixth form in September 2010, so that Walworth students can continue their studies to age 18.
We believe in the potential of each of our students and we are committed to giving them every possible opportunity to succeed. Every student should leave the academy with a real choice of continuing into further and higher education or pursuing the career of their choice. Our academy is shaped by a culture of inclusion and mutual respect and a close working relationship between students and staff. We provide an inspirational and secure environment which celebrates success and challenges students to realise their full potential.
We moved into our new buildings in January 2010.
