Extra-curricular and enrichment activities
We believe that a student's education extends well beyond the classroom. Through in-school and extra-curricular activities, our extended services and enrichment programmes play an important part in each child's development.
These programmes inspire our students to lead safe and healthy lives as successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
The academy provides a range of residential and personal development experiences and opportunities for young people to participate in and with their local community.
We are also developing a comprehensive programme of after-school clubs and activities, which include football, netball, martial arts, basketball, hockey and athletics, as well as a debating society, drama, dance, chess and computer clubs.
As part of our commitment to raising attainment, there is extra support in key areas through the introduction of Saturday booster classes and weekend residentials to focus on coursework and exam techniques.
GCSE clubs in most subjects operate after school and the library is open to all years, every evening and before school, for private study or homework.
