WALWORTH ACADEMY RAISES GCSE ACHIEVEMENT AGAIN
Walworth Academy has improved performance in the 2009 GCSE results, the second since the school became Walworth Academy. The results are a credit to the enormous efforts of pupils and staff.
- 45% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades including English and mathematics, (2008, 37%)
- 62% achieved at least 5 A* - C grades overall

Our early achievements
Pupils’ and teachers’ hard work delivered solid improvement in the August 2008 results, with the number of pupils achieving 5 GCSEs at A* - C including English and maths up by 11 percentage points to 37% (26% in 2007) and 43% achieving 5 GCSE passes overall (31% in 2007).
We intend to build on this record and look forward to continued improvements in achievement each year.

Ofsted school inspectors have judged that Walworth Academy is “making good progress towards raising standards” in their first monitoring visit to the academy.
